Join us for Artistic Impact in which we use a variety of art media for self expression and exploration.
Share your original poetry, spoken word, prose, short stories, or a piece you enjoy. Get creative and enjoy coffee and hot chocolate.
Introduction to different forms of creative writing such as poetry and prose. Writers can sharpen their skills through exercises and revision. Feedback is given in a non-threatening atmosphere.
This is your time to vent and release all your stress from the week. Enjoy different relaxing alternatives such as warm tea, relaxing music, stretching, meditation, art, etc. Share, vent, laugh and decompress to destress.
LGBTQ+ Support Group:
A group for those who self-identify as having a mental health challenge and identify as LGBTQ+. Discuss issues with your peers and develop the skills to move forward, sometimes being heard or listening is the support we need.
Men & Women Support Group:
We split into two groups for this activity and talk openly and comfortably about issues that affect our lives.
Movies and Games:
Saturday & Sunday are for hanging out with peers and having some good old fashioned fun with board games, cards, and movies. We provide games to choose from, but feel free to bring your own.
NAMI Connection Recovery Support Group is a free, peer-led support group for adults living with mental illness. You will gain insight from hearing the challenges and successes of others, and the groups are led by NAMI-trained facilitators who’ve been there.
Every Friday evening we will be having a pizza social! There will be pizza, board games, and videos! There is no charge – come as you are! This event is being co-sponsored by NAMI Gainesville, Gainesville Opportunity Center, and Gainesville Peer Respite Inc.
Overnight stay guest only – join us every evening to get some added support during your stay.
An inspirational activity with a spiritual aspect using video and discussion regarding the world around you through topics such as love, compassion, etc.
Share ways to take care of the whole self – mind, body, and spirit.
Trauma Informed Peer Support:
Have you experienced a life-altering event? This is the place where these issues can be explored with others while developing skills to begin to move forward.
Voices & Visions:
A support group that accepts that voices and visions are real. It accepts that people are not any less for having the voices or visions and respects and values each person as they speak from their own experiences.
Exploring the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of our lives and how they intertwine. This includes, but is not limited to sharing food prep/cooking skills, ways to save money, discovering resources, and getting support.
Walk the area around the house with your peers and get your energy going! We can have fun and maybe lose some weight!
Participating in easy physical activities such as walking, stretching, and simple strengthening exercises you can incorporate into your everyday routine to improve wellness. Learn ways to relax and increase your mental.
